Marty Lewis
June 9, 2017

Film Florida, the private statewide organization promoting the production of film, television and entertainment recently concluded its annual conference in Destin, Fl. In Destin Film Florida Executive Board elections were held with Marty Lewis chosen to serve as an alternate member of the Film Commission Council Division of the Board.

Overall, even without incentives, Florida remains a preferred location for many productions. The legislative session ended with funding issues much the same as they have been with the State Office of Film & Entertainment intact and the sales tax exemption also intact.

St Augustine and St Johns County will be utilized in June for parts of a period piece feature film that will benefit our County with many ‘heads in beds’ etc. One of the producers of this film is former Florida Film Commissioner, Paul Sirmons.

St Augustine Film Office Board members Marty Lewis and Diane Maurno-Lewis represented St Johns County at the Film Florida conference.

The St Augustine Film Office is organized under the St Johns Cultural Council and partially funded through the St Johns County Tourist Development Council.
