National Parks Centennial
June 2, 2016

St. Augustine restaurants Blackfly, Collage, Culinary Outfitters, Michael's Tasting Room, La Pentola, O.C. White’s, and The Reef have partnered with the St Johns Cultural Council to celebrate the National Parks 100th Anniversary by creating summer menu specials on the National Parks theme.

These menu specials will be previewed at the Opening Reception of the America’s Parks and Find Your Park Plein Air Art Exhibition, June 9th at the Lightner Museum.  In addition Ancient City Brewing will offer its Galleon Golden Ale and Matanzas River Red Ale in keeping with the National Park’s theme.  St. Augustine Winery will provide its noted sangria.

America’s Parks Exhibition features 50 original paintings about the many national and regional parks in America.  In addition, 18 works from the Cultural Council’s Find Your Park Plein Air paint out (painting in the open), held during National Parks Week in April will be on display and available for sale.  Many of the artists will attend as “meet the artists” and available to talk about their work and experiences.

For music fans, champion fiddler Allen Hood and The Dunehoppers will entertain with their special brand of bluegrass and mountain music.

All these food and beverage items are offered complimentary to patrons during the Opening Reception.  Tickets to the Opening Reception are $50 per person or $90 for a pair and can be purchased on line at: www.celebrating100years.eventbrite.com.

The Opening Reception will be from 5:30 – 7:30 on Thursday June 9th at St. Augustine’s Lightner Museum.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the ArtReaches Program.

America’s Parks and Find Your Park Plein Air are made possible, in part, by support from the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, the St. Johns Tourist Development Council, the National Park Service, David Wagner LLC.,  and donors to the St. Johns Cultural Council.
