Haskell Sculpture Initiative Call for Artists

August 11, 2016

The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville (CCGJ) and its Art in Public Places Committee (APPC), on behalf of Preston H. Haskell, Jacksonville, Florida, is soliciting qualifications proposals for permanent, contemporary outdoor sculptures, which will be privately funded and located on private property in the downtown Jacksonville Florida area.

The objective of this initiative is to place significant and impactful privately funded outdoor sculptures on private property visible from city streets throughout the downtown. Locations will typically be plazas or open spaces at street level adjacent to principal high-rise buildings. The result will be a downtown vibrant with exciting outdoor art, large in scale, colorful and contemporary in design.

Each work will be purchased and installed through a partnership between the building owner or its principal tenant (Sculpture Owner) and Preston H. Haskell (Donor). This initiative contemplates approximately ten sculptures.

CCGJ and its APPC will provide art consulting services for this program in coordination with other ongoing downtown public art initiatives.

Proposals shall be submitted through the CAFÉ system.
