St. Augustine, FL (Apr. 9) - The St. Augustine Art Association invites artists to submit entries into the 6th Annual Nature & Wildlife Art Exhibition, which will be installed throughout the gallery July 25 - August 31, 2015. The entry deadline is June 1.
This juried art competition, showcasing original works in a wide spectrum of styles and materials, explores nature in its many beautiful forms, from plant life and landscapes to the diversity of species that inhabit the great outdoors.
Cash prizes totaling $5,000 will be awarded, including a $2,000 top prize. A jury panel will curate the exhibit from the digital entries. Jim Draper, acclaimed North Florida nature artist, will judge the exhibit for awards once it is installed in the gallery.
Last year, more than 125 pieces were featured in the exhibition, which attracted artists from across the county as well as many area artists, who were among the award winners.
"Artists traveled hundreds of miles to accept their awards last summer, and some traveled just down the road," said Elyse Brady, Art Association Executive Director. "It's always exciting when local artists are represented in this exhibit because our community is brimming with talent."
Artists may submit up to three digital images for a fee of $45. The application is available by clicking the "Nature & Wildlife" icon at www.staaa.org. Application forms are also available at the St. Augustine Art Association, 22 Marine Street.
