St. Augustine, FL (Nov. 12) - The St. Augustine Art Association presents the 50th Annual St. Augustine Art & Craft Festival Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday and Sunday, November 28 and 29, at Francis Field.
The signature juried art fair features 150 fine artists from around the region exhibiting original paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, woodworks, glass, photography, fiber arts and other fine crafts. Prizes valued over $5,000, including a $1,000 Best in Show will be awarded for excellence to artists selected by a judge, Lily Kunon, Assistant Professor of Art at Jacksonville University.
The St. Augustine Royal Family and historic re-enactors will make an appearance on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. to help celebrate the Festival's 50th anniversary in "royal fashion."  The public is invited to dress creatively for the BIG 50 photo op and Royal Art Awards Ceremony, which includes"Mad Hatter" balloon art and King Arthur cookies.
Two days of live entertainment provided by the Gamble Rogers Festival performers, food trucks, signature beer and wine, the Hyundai Kids Art Zone and the citywide Nights of Lights combined with one-of-a-kind gifts make this an ideal start to the holiday season.
"This Festival has been a hallmark of St. Augustine's cultural life for decades," said Festival Manager Diane Bradley. "We invite everyone to spend Thanksgiving weekend at the Festival, especially Sunday's 50th Anniversary Royal Award Ceremony. It's great fun for a great cause!"
An estimated 15,000 visitors attend the annual art gathering, which is a fundraiser for the St. Augustine Art Association, a non-profit art organization founded in 1924 to promote excellence in the arts.  With a $1 gate donation, Festival visitors receive a prize drawing ticket for area attractions, restaurants and specialty gifts.  Proceeds benefit the Art Association's education, exhibition and outreach programs for the local community.
All-day discount parking is available in the Historic Parking Garage with a PARK NOW Card. For information, call (904) 824-2310 or visit www.staugustineartfestival.com.
